Organized by SAR, presided over by the Ambassador of the United States of America in France, with the participation of the Society of Cincinnati and the Rochambeau Chapter, NSDAR.

The tomb of the Marquis de La Fayette is in the Cimetière de Picpus. It is honored every year during a Franco-American ceremony, the tradition of which dates back to July 4, 1917, in the presence of General Pershing and Colonel Stanton, author of the famous “La Fayette, nous voici”. On this occasion every year, the American flag which flies permanently over his tomb is replaced.
