Hermione took Lafayette to the United States in 1780 to join the American patriots in their fight for independence. After some decisive battles on various fronts in the United States and in the Indian Ocean, Hermione ended her glorious career off the coast of Le Croisic where she ran aground in September 1793.

In 1992, the Hermione Lafayette Association embarked on a project to rebuild her. It was completed in 2014 after 17 years of work. The new Hermione undertook various voyages, including a trip to the United States in the footsteps of Lafayette. She is currently undergoing repairs, her hull having been attacked by fungi.

With the participation of three administrators of the Hermione La Fayette Association:
– Guy Gautreau, Professor of modern literature and historian of the association
– Sabine Renault Sablonière, Descendant of La Fayette and Member of the Chapter
– Pauline Serrurier, Doctor of History and President of the Société Histoire Retrouvée

Please accept our apologies for the change of date, we look forward to seeing you.
