Thursday, 21 September – Conference by Sylphide de Daranyi on her book

6:30 pm
at Artcurial, 7 Rond-Point des Champs-Elysées – Marcel-Dassault (see enclosed invitation).

I’m pleased to forward you an invitation from Sylphide de Daranyi, member of our chapter, an historian and art historian.

She has just published a biography of art dealer Paul Guillaume (1891-1934) with Flammarion (in co-publication with the Musée de l’Orangerie).

This book details the results of Rochambeau Chapter, NSDAR member Sylvi de Daranyi’s research on Paul Guillaume. A true entrepreneur, he became one of the most important art dealers of the 1920s-1930s, trading even with the United States and corresponding with Albert Barnes for the creation of his Foundation.

Part of Paul Guillaume’s collection can be found at the Musée de l’Orangerie, in the Walter-Guillaume collection, which can be complemented by a visit to the exhibition “Paul Guillaume et Modigliani, un artiste et son marchand” (from September 20).
