Monday, 17 April 2023 – PRIVATE VISIT Hôtel de Pontalba – Residence of the Ambassador
Monday 17 April, RV 2.30 pm
41, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Paris 8ème
I am pleased to confirm the visit of the Hotel de Pontalba, Residence of the American Ambassador in Paris on Monday 17 April. The visit will be preceded by a friendly drink during which Her Excellency, Denise Campbell Bauer, will honour us with her presence.
The Hotel de Pontalba is a private mansion built between 1842 and 1855 by French architects Louis Visconti and Antoine Vivenel on commission of Baroness Michaela Almonester de Pontalba, a New Orleans businesswoman. It was purchased by the US government in 1948 and the renovation work was completed in 1971. Since then, this residence of the American Ambassador in Paris embodies the living link of friendship between the United States and France.
