ANNUAL DINNER – Thursday March 21, 2024 – 7:30 pm

Dear Daughters,

The Chapter Board looks forward to welcoming you to our 2024 Annual Dinner. It will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024, 90 years after the founding of our beautiful chapter on March 20, 1934.

The dinner will be preceded by a conference by Hervé du Boisbaudry on his book Leray de Chaumont, Franklin and the American Revolution.
Conference in French.

After graduating from the Institut d’études politiques de Paris, Hervé du Boisbaudry (SAR) began his career at the Banque de France. From an early age, he was fascinated by the American War of Independence, his ancestor François-Marie d’Aboville having distinguished himself at the victory of Yorktown.

Author of numerous works on French personalities who have left their mark on history, his book on Leray de Chaumont was published in September 2023.

France made a crucial contribution to American Independence. In this context, Jacques Donatien Le Ray de Chaumont played a decisive role through his meetings with some of the greatest figures of the time, including Benjamin Franklin and John Adams, as well as ministers Vergennes and Sartine, who were among his main interlocutors.

His material support was decisive, as was his hospitality at the Hôtel de Valentinois in Passy, which welcomed Franklin for nine years and served as the first American embassy on foreign soil.

Address : Yacht Club de France, 41 avenue Foch – Paris 16e.

Please confirm your attendance by March 10, using the link below, along with payment details (the aperitif and venue hire will be paid for by the Chapter).

Spouses and friends are welcomed.
